Ellen & Korey had a beautiful mountain elopement at The Ridge of Asheville! The views are stunning and I love that they had a little private cake and champagne after! We’re always a big fan of couples creating or incorporating their own traditions on their elopement day.
This is how they met:
“We met at a mutual co-workers wedding in Roanoke, VA. We both worked at the same company but in different branches. I worked at the Roanoke branch and then transferred to Raleigh. Then, Korey started at the Roanoke branch so I had always heard people speak highly of him but didn’t know him until the wedding.”
How they got engaged:
“Over Labor Day weekend, we took our miniature dachshund, Slinky to the beach for the first time. He had never seen the ocean and he’s 7 1/2! It was to also double as an anniversary trip. I was getting ready to go to dinner after being on the beach and I walked out of the room and he was on one knee with Slinky in a tuxedo! Funny thing is that Slinky freezes and refuses to move when he has an outfit on, so he was perfectly still! :)”
About the wedding day:
We love Asheville and wanted to get married here!. We grew up in the Virginia Blue Ridge area and love the views, hiking, and mountain air.
We are looking forward to being completely by ourselves, on our own terms, and NOT going into debt. (Eloping is awesome!)
