It’s no secret that I’m a sucker for a city elopement. And Chicago is my home, so I’m especially partial to it!
I can tell you from experience that getting married outside in December with massive coats and scarves and hats takes dedication! Especially over by the lake! Jasmine and Martina took advantage of the time of year and said I do along the riverwalk downtown. During certain months it’s a bustling area with seasonal bar and restaurants that pop up, but on this winter day it looks like they had the city to themselves.
A few words from their photographer:
“Jasmine and Martina shared a beautiful and intimate ceremony with one another. It was a gorgeous sunny December day, not common for Chicago winters, clear blue skies and moderate temps engulfing the couple and ending the day with a gorgeous sunset. The nearlywed’s chose to celebrate simply and quietly at theWit Hotel, overlooking skyscrapers and the hustle of Chicago life. With friend’s in tow and words of encouragement, Jasmine and Martina took their oath of love in style – along the Chicago River and Riverwalk. Starting their vows in true fashion, the couple threw down on Rock Paper Scissors to initiate who would share first, wouldn’t expect anything different from the duo. Laughter, tears and supportive deep breathes finalized the devotion to one another before taking to the streets for portraits and city shenanigans. Twirling before the skyline and pausing to enjoy the views made for easy going and simple portraits for the couple. Jasmine and Martina opted for a quiet and secluded dinner at Mastro’s to end their beautiful Wedding Day.”n
