For a couple that met while hiking, it only made sense that they wanted their wedding day to be an adventure! I’d say they accomplished that! From doing their first look and ceremony nestled in the forest of Currumbin Valley, Queensland to roaming the beaches nearby it was a day they will never forget.
And there is even an appearance from a T-Rex 😉

How did you meet?
We met in a 20km hiking event
How did you decide to elope? What challenges came with that decision?
We both love adventures. We always thought it would be special and cool to elope to somewhere new on our wedding day, with a couple of close friends. The biggest challenge for us was to find our dream wedding venue in a different state and organize the trip . Luckily we got a lot of help from our photographer and our wedding planner.
How did you decide on the location?
We knew that we would like to get married in an epic forest. We flowed this idea to our wedding photographer and planner. They did some research and recommended a wonderful place at Currumbin Valley, Queensland.
Did you tell anyone ahead of time or truly elope? How did you break the news after?
We invited our parents to join our elopement ahead of time via telephone. They live overseas and it was a pity that they were unable to join us. We told our other friends our elopement after we received our wedding photos. We showed them those photos and they were very surprised and inspired. Some couples even told us that they wanted to elope as well.
What was your favorite part of the wedding day and why?
Our favourite part of the day was our little adventure after the ceremony. Our wedding photographer Mr Van Middleton took us to a local beach at the sunset. All of a sudden there was a change of weather and the sky became stormy and tides were coming, which turned the beach very epic. We enjoyed the time at the beach very much.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their elopements?
Choose a photographer who loves adventures. We were so lucky that we did!
