How did the two of you meet?
David is from Spain and came to the US four years ago to teach Spanish to first graders as a Spanish Immersion teacher at a School District in Cincinnati, Ohio. I am the School Speech-Language Pathologist and we met there at the elementary. We just decided one day to meet up for a drink (since he was new to Cincinnati) and hit it off right away.
What was your #1 reason for deciding to elope?
We wanted an intimate private ceremony that focused just on us and the love that we feel for each other.
How did you decide on the location?
Our location was special to us in that we went there on our first date and we have shared many special moments there in Eden Park. We live nearby and one of the things we enjoy doing together is talking long walk though this park. It’s beautiful and has been a place of peace and comfort for us over the years so deciding to get married there as well, was an easy choice.
Tell us the best part of your elopement day!
The best part of our day was that we were together and the day was perfectly simple and filled with love.
Any advice for future couples planning their elopements?
Our advice would be to find a place that is meaningful to you and plan your day exactly the way you want it. It doesn’t have to be complicated to be wonderful. We would also highly recommend hiring a good photographer to capture the moments. While we loved that our elopement was so simple, we also wanted someone there to memorialize the day and our love.
