Amanda and Trevor were ahead of the curve when they planned their intimate wedding in Alexandria. They were joined by their nearest and dearest for a courtyard ceremony and exquisite chef prepared dinner.
Here are some words from their photographer about the couple and the day!
“What does George Washington, an AirBnB, and the most delicious dinner party have in common? If you are looking for classy and intimate wedding inspiration, you won’t need to look beyond Ellen and Trevor’s Old Town Alexandria wedding. Ellen and Trevor knew that they wanted their wedding to be shared with just a few of their closest friends and family members. They loved the convenience and charm of Old Town Alexandria and being AirBnB hosts themselves, were inspired to find the perfect home away from home to hold their wedding in the heart of this historic area.
The rental that they found couldn’t have been more perfect with its private courtyard for the ceremony and Great Room to hold the intimate multi-course dinner party that Ellen and Trevor envisioned. The Duvall House also boasts a famous guest, George Washington who attended a celebration of his evolutionary War victory here in 1783 and was later the guest of Charles Lee, his personal attorney (who served as U.S. Attorney General, Mayor of Alexandria, Collector of Customs for Alexandria, member of the Virginia Assembly, and director of the Bank of Alexandria.)
Ellen and Trevor brought along their own details to add to the charming space including childhood photos spread throughout the first floor. Florals, candles, furs, and antlers (all from Trevor’s hunting exploits) decorated the outdoor mantel where the couple exchanged their wedding vows and created a warm glow on the table arrangement as the family gathered for dinner. Having two chefs in the family (Ellen’s father and sister), the quality and arrangement of dinner was an important part of the evening. Ellen brought in a friend and an excellent chef to create the perfect menu to celebrate their wedding. The other chefs in the family couldn’t resist sneaking into the kitchen to preview the courses and lend a hand here and there. Sipping wine amongst the closest people to Ellen and Trevor was the perfect end to such a beautiful day.”
