With mountain views and red, white and blue Samantha and Robert said I do overlooking the gorgeous Rocky Mountains in Golden, Colorado.
From their Photographer- “This couple loved doing things out of the typical standard for weddings from the get go. Samantha took the Irish tradition of Leap Day to heart and proposed to Robert herself, which led to a huge engagement party that same day. When Covid hit they both knew they wanted to move their wedding day up rather than back, and decided to solidify their relationship just in case the worst hit them and drove all the way from Dallas, Texas to Colorado to elope on the 4th of July in the middle of the Rocky Mountains.”

How did you meet?
A friend told Robert to shut up at a bar because he was being overly loud, his typical self. The rest is history.
Tell us about the wedding day plans!
We both wanted something “low-key” from the start. Originally we had hoped to elope overseas and a few things came up, including the chaos of 2020 so we sped up our time table. Colorado has a huge piece of our hearts in many ways and no other place made sense for us here in the states. July 4th was the first time Robert knew he loved Samm and the inspiration and color palette came from incorporating the holiday.
Tell us about your decor and flower or any color palette inspiration.
All of my favorite types of flowers in a semi-traditional red/white/blue color families. I added one yellow rose since we are Texans. the backdrop was gorgeous all on its own looking out from the mountain.
The few traditional pieces like cake topper and wine flutes were off Etsy.
How did you decide on your looks for the day?
I went for a comfortable simple dress with pockets! Robert choose a blue suit with a slight plaid pattern, his style 100%. His red tie brought everything together.
What was the most memorable moment of the day?
Just making it! Robert forgot his shirt in Texas and we were an hour late to our own wedding! lol
Do you have any advice for couples planning their own weddings?
Focus on yourselves. The time goes by in a blur no matter how you do it and make sure it is about what you want!
