When you think of an Adventure Elopement you may not thinking of Maryland as the first option. But adventure was definitely in the cards for Dani and Ian on their wedding day. I will share the story from their photographer below. Not everyone has the guts for an adventure elopement – and even less for a winter one! Enjoy!
“This Adventure Elopement was so epic with D & I outside of Harpers Ferry in Knoxville, Maryland. These two tied the knot on a very cold, very windy, beautiful sunny day. It was 25 degrees that day with 38-51mph winds, probably colder and higher winds up on that cliff! Love kept these two warm!
We met up with D + I at The Wedding Niche where they were finishing getting ready. We headed over to Weverton Cliffs base which is right around the corner. When we started our hike up to the cliffs we were hit by a snow squall. There were many hikers rushing down the mountain warning us about the intense wind at the top as we were hiking up. When we reached the top the snow squall had passed and the sun came out, leaving only the crazy wind, good news-we had Weverton Cliffs all to ourselves! Our bride wanted a clean dress for the ceremony so we brought our trusty wardrobe changing tent. Danny had to hold on while she was getting changed so the tent wouldn’t blow off the cliff eek!!! They exchanged their vows and rings, said I do and are now husband and wife! They brought their fur baby Broccoli who had the time of her life hiking and exploring with no cares about the cold or the wind. She watched the birds soar below us and even did a bit of modeling for us. We headed back down the mountain and took some photos along our journey.”
