Trevor and Claire eloped in Lowell, Michigan at Fallasburg Park.
I met Claire on instagram through a mutual friend. I saw she was a badass vegan weightlifter and we both had the vegan and weightlifter thing in common [Im not sure I am a badass lol]. She began to follow me and started to compliment my work. As COVID took over this year, I received a message from her about her elopement and me capturing it. I obviously was really geeked about this.
When we met up at the park, we did a first look with Trev and Claire, and then took a few photographs. We ran into some of Claire’s co-workers [lol], made art, chatted and got to know one another in the flesh.
We met up with their closest friends by the bridge and had a ceremony in the most perfect weather. Claire’s family lives in Thailand, so there are many many emotional photographs of them FaceTiming from afar. Claire and Trev are really close to Claire’s mom and dad, so specifically for Claire this was a bitter-sweet day. Trevor also took Claire’s last name which says SO much about their relationship, and made me super jealous I didn’t think of that for myself [haha]
After the ceremony we took some more photographs in the beautiful sunset and then headed over to a friends house where the most beautiful little dinner was set up, with Claire’s mom and dad on the phone. Claire’s dad gave the sweetest toast, and everyone got emotional [including me].
These photographs really represent why I got into this businesses.
