The number one things I love about elopements is that they can be whatever you want them to be. There isn’t as much pressure to be so traditional. Yet you can still incorporate your own traditions into the day.
In this case Rebeka’s family has a tradition of wearing fun wigs so she brought along a few for photos. So that her new family could embrace the fun and make it their own! Also how cute is their daughter?!
Here are a few words from their photographer about the day :
“I was contacted by Rebeka’s mom that her daughter and soon to be son-in-law were wanting to come to New Orleans and Elope within the week. They were coming in from Texas with just immediate family, their baby girl and a family friend who is their pastor to marry them. We found a quiet spot under the Spanish moss of the great Virginia Oak trees that inhabit City Park and these two got married on their own terms!
We took loads family photos and growing up Rebeka’s family always wore crazy wigs. So they brought a few to document their family’s quirky, fun traditions.
Nico looks incredible in a classic black suit with a deep teal tie and Rebeka wore a deep green floral dress with her signature black bo-ho hat. Who says a bride has to wear white!? I love it when couples leave tradition behind and choose to make their day their own!”
