Welcome back to the gorgeous San Francisco City Hall! It’s no secret that it’s one of our favorites and Natalie and Buddy’s wedding is no exception. They were married with just a handful of immediate family present as guests for their I do’s!
Please enjoy these gorgeous images and some Q&A from the couple below.

What was your favorite part of the day?
Our favorite part of the day was our first viewing. Our photographer, Hannah Berglund, asked our families to give us space to do the first viewing without any distractions. It was pretty nice to have time with just us (and our photographer) before having our families join us.
How did you meet?
We met in college. Buddy was finishing his master’s degree while Natalie was getting her B.S. Natalie went on a couple of dates with Buddy’s roommate, Taylor. It obviously didn’t work out, but Natalie and Taylor remained friends. Natalie eventually met Buddy through Taylor when she attended a party at their house.
How did you decide on the location?
We decided on San Francisco City Hall because it was a beautiful venue. Natalie also grew up in the Bay Area, so it just made sense to pick SF City Hall.
What made you decide to elope/have a tiny wedding?
We were planning to have a wedding in spring, but the cost of a wedding was overwhelming. We were together for so long (6 years), that we just wanted to be married sooner. There were a lot of financial benefits for us to be married as well. It just made sense for us get married before 2019 ended. With the cost of a wedding and the want to be married sooner, it just made sense to go to city hall.
Did you tell anyone ahead of time? How did you break the news?
We only told our immediate family. We soften the blow of an elopement by promising we would do a reception later in the future, since the big wedding was just to make our parents happy. The only people who attended our elopement was Buddy’s mom and step dad and Natalie’s mom and sisters.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their elopements?
Our advice is to not stress over it. It goes fast, so you should enjoy it. Don’t be afraid to DIY your bouquet and boutonnières, it’s pretty simple to do.
