Rachael and Benjamin traded in the Colorado Rockies for the Swiss Alps on their elopement day. I remember when I selected this elopement for July that I would be excited for some snowy photos and I was right! The Midwest is in a heat wave right now and I the idea of a cozy and snowy mountain elopement is sounds amazing.
Here are some words from their photographer, Nina about the day :
“Rachael and Benjamin traveled from Colorado to elope – and go skiing – at the Matterhorn in Zermatt, Switzerland. They started the day with a first look outside of Matthiol Boutique Hotel where they stayed, with the famous mountain peaking out in the background. From there, they took the Gornergrat Bahn train up the mountain, and hiked along a snowshoeing trail to find the perfect spot for their vow and ring exchange. After their ceremony, they headed back to the hotel for the Swiss-German wedding tradition of “baumstamm sagen.” By sawing a log together, the couple shows their ability to overcome any obstacle as a team!”
