If this doesn’t want to make you run off the mountains and get married I don’t know what will!
Katie and John eloped near Alouette Lake in Golden Ears National Park just outside Vancouver. The sweeping mountain views made for the most picturesque backdrop. They were joined by just two guests. One being her sister, who also served at the officiant and made the flowers! They included a few personal touches and ended the elopement with a beer cheers!
Here are a few words from their photographers about the day:
“Katie and John held a beautiful intimate elopement ceremony on the shores of Alouette Lake in Golden Ears Park.
This duo is truly adventurous, because they chose this destination location from their home in Florida and had never visited before! They fell in love with the epic Canadian nature. And Golden Ears has a lot to offer: a huge lake, mountain backdrops an impressive green river and of course the typical lush green forest.
Katie and John arranged to have a first look! It’s not something a lot of couples that elope think about, as they often get ready together. But these two made it so John sat in front of their shared car and they walked to the ceremony location separately!
The ceremony was let by Katie’s sister, who flew in from New York! It was a heartfelt ceremony with beautiful vows. And of course no decor was needed thanks to the stunning nature backdrop.
Afterwards they explored the park together for more photos.
Katie’s eye catching bouquet was hand made by her sister! The flowers are paper flowers and she included a page from Harry Potter as well as a map page. John’s boutonnière is also paper. These items will be keepsakes forever.
Katie and John’s beautiful handmade ring box also perfectly fit in the forest environment. And last but not least, they brought a couple of beers to enjoy for after the photos. ”
