Wine Country Wedding: Amber + Josh

We’re kicking off this week with a gorgeous fall elopement in Wine Country!

Amber and Josh have know each other for a long time, but reconnected after many years on their own paths and hit it off instantly!

Here are a few words from their photographer :

“Amber and Josh originally met 21 years ago and had small crushes on each other at the time. Little did they know that they had just met their future spouses. They parted ways and built successful happy lives. After awhile and many life changes the pair got a chance to re-meet 4 years ago. They immediately felt a connection, and when they started planning their wedding they wanted it to really be a celebration of their love without any of the fuss. The couple chose wine country in the fall because of the romance of it (just like their relationship). With just a few family members attending, and their amazing wedding planners Run Away With Me, the couple showed up to the venue and enjoyed getting married in the serene vineyards of Sonoma Valley. The bride accessorized for the cool temperatures with a wrap and kept her look elegant.

They day was easy and smooth, with lots of laughs and amazing memories. The photos were one of the best parts of the day. The couple walked and explored the vineyard while talking and enjoying each others company. Amazing moments were captured by the Run Away With Me teams lead photographer.

It was a perfect celebration of their love, no stress and just each other. ”

How did you meet?

We met initially in 2007 in Aransas Pass, Texas. Josh was on a guy trip there and Amber is from that area. We met at an after concert party and hit it off right away and spent the weekend enjoying the beach. Josh lived in Fort Worth, Texas at the time and a long distance relationship was out of the question, so we went our separate ways. We each married and had children (who are all almost the same age) and divorced. Fast-forward 10 years Amber moved back Houston, Texas and was looking for people She remember from Texas, Looked Josh up on Facebook. He still lived in the Fort Worth Area. Amber about a week later went to visit family who liked in Fort Worth. Amber and Josh had a lunch date and it had been love ever since!

How did you decide to elope? Did you have any challenges that came with that decision?

We wanted a small, intimate event focused just on each other. No worries about other expectations. The only sort of challenge was Telling family that they weren’t invited, and the kids. They were kind of mad at us!

How did you decide on the location?

We originally wanted a small beach wedding. Josh took Amber on a romantic trip to Napa to purpose and we fell in love with it there. So we changed our mind and hired a wedding planner from the Napa Area and loved every minute of it.

Did you tell anyone ahead of time? If not, how did you break the news?

We didn’t really “tell” everyone. We both have been married before so we didn’t want a lot of hubbub. they only people that we really talked to it about where the family members that were there.

What was your favorite part of the day and why?

Taking the photos. We had so much fun laughing and teasing each other during the photo shoot. You can see the ridiculousness in our faces I feel. In a good way. We are head over heals in love and the photos are a perfect reminder when times and life get tough.

What advice would you give to couples planning their elopements?

If an elopement is the route you want to go, totally do it. There is nothing to worry or fuss about except yourself and your best friend. The love you hove for each other is what that day is about and that is what an elopement will give you.
