Wendy and Kasey ventured off to Montana to say I do surrounded by their friends, family and the mountain of Glacier National Park.
Every time I see photos here I am in awe of how beautiful it is. Does this place really exist?! Their day was beautiful and intimate. And Tayler Ashley Photography was there to capture it all. Here are some words from her and advice the couple gave about the day!
“If Glacier Park is not on your bucket list yet, it should be. When Wendy + Kasey first reached out to me to capture their intimate elopement, I was ecstatic. The opportunity to shoot in such a beautiful place was a dream come true. What I didn’t expect was how much I would absolutely love these two. They graciously invited me into their home at the end of last year for their engagement photos. On day two, we all stayed in the cutest little house at Devil’s Lake in Wisconsin (their pup Caliber came of course). We had the MOST fun and I was even more stoked for their elopement in Montana. Why did they choose Glacier Park? “The beauty around every turn. It almost became exhausting lol. The people here are also incredibly kind. It’s heaven on earth here and we feel so lucky to have been able to tie the knot here.”
Wendy + Kasey’s ceremony was on the stunning Lake McDonald in Glacier Park, surrounded by 15 of their closest family and friends. We were all a bit misty eyed and blamed it on the wind, of course.”We have ALWAYS wanted to come here. We both love the outdoors and hiking. What better place to pick than “the crown of the continent”!” After their ceremony we adventured through the park, stopping at all of our favorite spots. I joined them for an incredible dinner at the Isaak Walton Inn with their guests and gave them a teary hug at the end of the night.
Planning an elopement can surprisingly be a lot of work! I asked Wendy + Kasey what their advice is for couples planning to elope, and they replied “Don’t skimp on anything. Save well in advanced so you can include all you want to include. Do your research on the area ahead of time. For the brides – don’t skimp on your hotel room for the night before and day of. Also don’t pack light for your hygiene products – this is your wedding and you want to be able to keep your normal routine so you feel your best. Also be aware of WiFi/cell service ahead of time if Including guests. Our rural spot was beautiful but it was awful trying to keep things organized and on track without a way to communicate.”
If you are eloping, make sure to secure permits ahead of time + do plenty of location scouting in the days leading up! ”
